Who doesn’t love 65 mph winds and being slapped in the face by sand? Well, apparently those of us who live in my neck of the woods. While the weather reported the possibility of snow, mother nature had other plans… yes, that of 65 mph bone chilling-sand slapping, winds! You got that right, our wind is talented! On the other hand, who doesn’t love wearing a cozy sweatshirt and How I Met Your Mother marathons… Yes, that would be us! I am happy to proclaim that we’re almost totally caught up with the new episodes. Any other HIMYM fans out there?! Is it sad that, that is the highlight of my weekend. Wait, no, that wasn’t the highlight.. I forgot about our good deed. I was a little disappointed to be dragged out of my cozies and warm bed to go run errands, bllaaaaah, but if that hadn’t happened we wouldn’t have rescued a couple of dogs that got out of their home. So there we were, minding our own business on the way to the store, when we spotted two stray dogs. We flipped a u-ey and tracked them down. (We do this from time to time, but have yet to come upon dogs that would actually come over to us AND have tags on.) These sweet dogs came right over to us, sat on command, and allowed us to read their tags so we could call their owner. She was so happy and had barely noticed they’d escaped! They jumped out of our car, tails wagging, and it left us feeling so good!
On a more random-ish note, now that we’re all fully engulfed in the Christmas season, I can’t help but feel even more cozy at home with all the Christmas decorations up. I don’t know what it it is about a tree, adorned with pretty decorations, and garland, and mistletoe, and snow globes! Let’s all boycott and leave everything up all year round! Ok, sounds good, glad I’m not alone on it.
I’m sorry, found this on Pinterest and had to share… it made me so happy.
ps. – As this is the month of giving, I challenge you to pay it forward in any way you can. Buy a stranger’s breakfast, hold the door open, pick up a stray dog if the opportunity presents itself. Hey, ok, you get the idea. When we give to others, our generosity glorifies His name. It doesn’t get much better than that, does it?
