So, have you all had a wonderfully long holiday weekend? I definitely have. Over the last couple weeks we’ve had a few birthdays (mine & my dad’s), the big Thanksgiving fest x 2 (more on that), a fun night with the girls, and decking our halls!
As newlyweds without kids, we’re still trying to establish fun traditions that we can do together; but also, ones that our future children can take part in too. As for this year, my birthday kicks off the holiday season for us. It is super close to Thanksgiving and some years even falls on Thanksgiving day. This year hub & I went out to have a yummy dinner and caught the flick Catching Fire! Anyone else seen it? As a viewer who hadn’t read the books, after both part 1 & 2 I finish the movie always telling myself I need to read to books… I’ve added that to my to-do list!
We were off to Grandmother’s for Thanksgiving this year and had a great time; but, hub’s favorite part about Thanksgiving is the leftovers. Enter Thanksgiving feast take two. As I type this there is a bird in the oven, potatoes boiling, and homemade mac and cheese ready to be thrown into the oven! It will be our own little sweetheart-belated-turkey day-dinner-celebration. Say that five times fast. All that being said, I thought I’d share my life according to my iPhone photos! Drum roll please……..
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
If you follow me on Instagram, you might’ve already seen a few of these!
ps. – Before I jump back into my favorite truths, I wanted to finish up the month of November (since I missed last week and it is only the first of December) by sharing a few more of the things I’m most thankful for. Having a few friends I can count on is something I hold near and dear. Quality not quantity is how I look at that aspect of my life! There are a few I like to call bests and I am beyond thankful for them. You know who you are!
Next up, my brother. The one I grew up with, the one who probably knows me better than anyone, he is an amazing person who I’m very thankful for.
Saved the best for last, my hub! We’ve made it through our first year of marriage and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store. I’m so very thankful for you. You have my whole heart. Here’s to what’s to come!
