Now that we’ve been doing a lot more theme parking, I’ve been trying to perfect my theme park outfit style. It can be a little bit of a challenge to wear something comfortable enough for a day outside, probably in the heat, while also looking cute + put together. Here are some of my tips and tricks on dressing functional yet stylish for theme parks:
Comfortable Shoes – I talked a little about this here, but I cannot walk all day long in sandals or unsupportive shoes. I would probably always pull out my Nikes or Converse over anything else, they’re just the best option for me; however, I put a few other options for those of you that like a different style.
Easy Layers – The weather is never 100% accurate, so I always like to go into a theme park prepared for anything. In the summer months, I always go for shorts and a simpler top; paired with a flannel, jean jacket, or light cardigan. Any of which act as a great layering piece to complete your outfit. If it gets chilly these are perfect choices since they’re not too heavy, while they can also pull your style together tied around your waist! ps – I love these graphic sweatshirts and think I need to add one to my collection soon.
Travel as Light as Possible – Because we’re still traveling with diapers, wipes, snacks, etc. for Hudson, I always need to bring a tote bag or something of that size. However, if your kids are beyond those needs or you don’t have kids, a cross body bag is your best option! They hold only your essentials and you don’t end up carrying around your entire life for six plus hours of walking.
Accessorize Minimally – A watch is usually an outfit staple for me especially in a theme park. Because I don’t usually have my phone out while we’re in the park, my watch is the most convenient way to find the time instead of having to reach into a pocket or dig around in a bag to find your phone for the time. I’d go for at least one additional piece of jewelry and leave it at that.
Throw a Hat on it – This isn’t a must whatsoever but, I’ve been loving my straw hat lately, as you know. Toss a hat on if you wish and know that you’re also protecting your face from the sun as an added bonus!
