The days are long and the years are far too short. I can’t bring myself to accept the fact that this year is already coming to an end. I can’t bring myself to accept the fact that this will be our second holiday season as a family of three. Time continues to charge forward, despite my efforts to slow down. As each season comes and goes, I find myself constantly wracking my mind trying to find + start + take on traditions to enjoy as a family; new and old. Thanksgiving has been celebrated at our house for the last few years and the food is there, the people are there, but I’ve never done a full on Thanksgiving, fall-savvy tablescape. Ladies + Gents, this is the year. This is the year my table will look worthy of Thanksgiving and, with the big feast just two days away, I wanted to share what I’ve created. Equal parts Pinterest + Adorned Life creativity, respectively.
For starters, a kraft paper table runner. I thought this was simple and I thought being able to add a place for people to write down what they are thankful for, beside each place setting, is a charming touch. Plus, it’ll protect the table from messes a little bit and I won’t complain about that!
At each table setting, I used a ruler to outline one of our plates leaving a little space at the top to write the name of each attendee.
I finished the table off by staggering candles in the center of the table, tucking in a few succulents from Home D, and adding some leftover items from Hudson’s birthday – enter “H” napkins and wooden utensils. A quick mention about the succulents, I initially went in for some greenery and maybe a flower or two; but, when I laid my eyes on these tiny little succulents, I was sold. Quickly arrange your candles and whatever accent plants you’ve chosen until you achieve the desired look. Voilá! A super simple but, perfectly fall tablescape for Thanksgiving.
Thank you so much for reading. If you’re hosting, what will your table look like this year? I’d love to see your ideas for a perfectly decked Thanksgiving tablescape. If you would like to share use #AdornedTablescape on Instagram & Twitter.
