Now that we’ve been attempting to live a healthier lifestyle, working out has been more of an occurrence throughout the week. Right now, my goal is to do some sort of exercise Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. A few weeks ago I had finished 30 Day Shred and could feel my body craving for a little something, food wise and water, of course. So what’s a girl to do? Scour Pinterest for easy post-workout snacks. One common snack I came across was no-bake protein balls. There are seriously so so so many recipes out there and just the other day, my friend and I came up with probably 10+ additional ingredients we thought would be delicious to mix into these little bites.
Some of the other ingredients I think would be good are: chia seeds, poppy seeds, cocoa powder, ground nuts, coconut, vanilla, mashed bananas, any nut butter (in place of peanut butter), protein powder, or any dried fruit. I’m sure there are even more ingredients that I haven’t thought of, that would take your bites to the next level. The options are endless!
Combine all of your ingredients in a bowl, form the mixture into balls, and bag them up. Once mine are all bagged up, I prefer to store them in the refrigerator. I found that when I tried rolling them the ingredients would just crumble, so I just sort of took a handful and then passed it back from one hand to the other, cupping my hands to get them to take shape.
I highly recommend this as a post-workout snack or just a bite to get you through your afternoon. You won’t regret it. Have a great weekend! xx
