If you know me at all, then you how much I enjoy experimenting with makeup. I really like to consider when I get up & ready for the day a little bit of “me time” and a way to express myself from day to day. I definitely have a morning routine and applying makeup, admittedly, takes a majority of that time. I most certainly did not wake up like this. Because I do acquire a handful of products from month to month, I’d like to share a few of my favorite beauty buys with all you lovelies. Here are three new products I’ve added to my loved list this past month.
Marc Jacobs Beauty #Instamarc Light Filtering Contour Powder—Lately, it seems like every beauty brand is coming out with some sort of contour palette. To be honest, the effort of contour & highlighting is a little bit intimidating; not to mention, I don’t really need a palette that includes 6 or more contour and highlight shades. When I saw the Marc Jacobs Contour Powder it didn’t look intimidating, while also only containing 2 shades, jackpot. I’m still experimenting with it, but my first impression is good! The powder, for me, provides just enough dimension to the face (I am pretty light-handed with my brush, though… not going for drag queen makeup over here), is easily manipulated, and blends to perfection.
Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer—I have mentioned before how I prefer my eyeliner to have a matte finish, well I expect nothing less from my foundation. Unfortunately, I have quite an oily t-zone and have always had a problem getting my foundation to wear all day without having to blot (favorite blotting products here and here) or reapply. I had never been a primer user until I read a review about this primer working well for someone who had a similar skin type. The light bulb instantly went off and I questioned why it had taken me this long to start testing out primers. This product works wonders for me and really, I’m not sure how I lived without it for this long.
Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar—This one’s just for fun. I have my fair share of eye shadow palettes, but I usually have no problem justifying why I should add another to my collection. For a very easy, subtle look, I like to apply the shade Peanut Butter in my crease and Butter Pecan packed on my lid. Do you have this pallet? What are your go-to, easy eye looks? Also, can we take a moment to talk about how amazing all of the Too Faced products smell?
