With summer scarily close, we’re all evaluating our summer bodies and winter white skin, while (sadly) tucking away our boots and sweaters. Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of being cold, but more than anything, I love lounging around in an oversized sweater and a pair of Uggs. Call me basic.
Getting to the point, I recently made a Sephora order in which I redeemed some of my beauty insider points for a sample of St. Tropez Self Tan Classic Bronzing Mousse. I’ve always wanted to try a self tanner to even out my skin tone. Don’t get me wrong, my skin does tan easily; but, I never feel like it’s an all-over even looking tan. With my sample in hand, not knowing where to start, I looked for tutorials all over YouTube. Because, lets be honest, nobody wants to botch a self-tan job and walk around completely splotchy until it wears off. What I found was that most everyone exfoliates their skin first. This is something that I’ve never really done and had a friend bring it to my attention that a body scrub is actually easy to make at home, rather than paying an arm and a leg for something in the store.
Long story long, I searched online for the perfect recipe and combined my favorite parts of a few of them. Simply combine all ingredients listed below into a bowl or your KitchenAid mixer and then whip it,whip it good until everything is completely combined. The final product is amazing and, let me tell you, my skin has never felt softer. I’ll have to keep you posted on how I feel post-self tan and if I would recommend the St. Tropez mousse.
Here’s what I used:
3/4 Cup Coconut oil
1 1/4 Cup Sugar
20 drops of lavender essential oil
