Happy Birthday, America!
I bet all of you have big plans to be with family and celebrate this beautiful day. As for us, I’m not exactly sure what our plans for the day hold, but we will certainly be enjoying the city fireworks and lighting off some of our own into the night. This will be Hudson’s first time seeing the fireworks, so I am especially excited about that. I’m hoping he does ok staying up late… he has a solid 8pm bed time so hopefully all the excitement will reign in any crankiness he might be feeling. Speaking of Hudson, on Friday we let him hold his own sparkler for practice, using the hack I mentioned here, and he was really excited about it! As a mama, though, I was super anxious until it burnt out. My fearless little boy, however, loved it. So, I’m sure there’ll be a sparkler or two in his future too.
Queue the sappy, patriotic music now… Today, more than ever, I am so grateful to be an American. More than grateful, lucky. And that’s simply an understatement. Let us all remember what today is really about and may God continue to bless America.
Have a safe and happy holiday! xx
