The beginning of fall is exciting for all the things I mentioned here. But, I also look forward to my favorite shows coming back and, of course, the Emmy Awards. Confession, I do watch the Emmys, but I’m not nearly as interested in the awards or the show as I am about the GOWNS and GLAM. These nights are huge for stylists and hair and makeup artists! They work their magic to produce some of the chicest, most beautiful looks! Mostly for my enjoyment, I wanted to share my favorite looks and hopefully inspire you to somehow incorporate pieces of it into your wardrobe. Without any further ado, here are my favorites of the night:
Claire Danes (Armani Privé), Julie Bowen (Zac Posen), Taylor Schilling (Thakoon), and Rose Byrne (Calvin Klein)
Living in a small town, and let’s be honest – not being a celebrity or royalty, most of us don’t get the opportunity to get this dressed up. Even for my work Christmas party, if I showed up looking this fancy… let’s just say, I’d be interested to hear people’s thoughts. Ok, I got myself sidetracked, back to the terribly fancy people.
- >First up, Claire Danes. I thought she looked stunning. One simple way to incorporate portions of her look is to wear a monochromatic ensemble and a bold lip for a pop of color! I especially love how the contrast worked on her.
- >Next was Julie Bowen. I heard a lot of mixed reviews about her look, but I for one, loved it! The folds and the ruffles, I die. While we can’t go walking around in a frock like this, we can easily find a ruffled blouse in this color. Pair it with anything!
- >Another look that really stood out to me was Taylor Schilling’s all white gown. Now, I loved her look all-around. I felt that she stunned from head to toe. If you’re going to wear white after Labor Day, this is the way to do it! What I loved most were her perfect waves and all gold details. Though her accessories were minimal, the gold shoe, bracelet, and trim on bag really tied it all together. I would say we can create a simple outfit, then pull it together by selecting the same shade for your jewelry, bag, and shoes! Sometimes matchy-matchy is a good thing.
- >Last but not least the pink ensemble on Rose Byrne. She is right on trend with those crop tops. I thought her dress was a nice surprise, something you wouldn’t exactly expect to see on the Emmys red carpet. If you’re daring enough, grab a high waisted skirt and crop top from American Apparel and WORK IT, honey!
There were so many fab looks, but these were my faves by far! What were your thoughts?
