During a summer in the desert, there are far too many days that are just too darn hot to go outside. We’re talking 110 and up, thankfully there’s little to no humidity; but, the wind does blow quite often and that really gives a blowdryer affect that just isn’t preferred for a day outside. Any of you mamas, especially to toddlers, know that a day stuck cooped up inside can be, lets just say challenging. One thing I’ve learned is, my boy loves art. It is a great way to sidetrack him from the next boredom fit he was about to throw, into something a lot more positive. All together now, san-it-y.
Long story short, always keep a roll of paper (I have one of these around here somewhere…), paint, and a cute little smock on hand. You’ll be golden. We’ll even sometimes sprinkle some glitter on there or glue on some googly eyes. That’s a sure fire way to increase the longevity of this activity, well, for us anyways.
What do you do with your children when it just isn’t possible to go outside?
Thank you so much for reading + have a happy weekend!
