Now that the we’re almost through the work week, I thought I’d celebrate the upcoming weekend by sharing a side I created over the holiday weekend. As Labor Day technically marks the end of summer and the beginning of fall, many of us choose to celebrate by enjoying the long weekend with our loved ones. In my case, this includes creating and eating delicious food while spending family time. I decided to try my own variation on potatoes this Labor Day and I’m calling it Bacon Potato Bake.
Ingredients: 4 large potatoes, green onions, triple cheddar cheese, and bacon. I also used Lawry’s seasoned salt, garlic salt, and pepper in an image below.
First, wash and cut the potatoes into thin slices.
Once the potatoes have been sliced, spray the baking sheet with Pam and arrange the potatoes evenly across your baking sheet. Next season the potatoes with Lawry’s seasoned salt, garlic salt, and pepper.
At this time start cooking the bacon…
In the mean time, generously sprinkle cheese on top of the potatoes. The more cheese the merrier!
Chop the bacon into small pieces and lightly, or heavily, sprinkle bacon bits over the potatoes.
Finish off with finely chopped green onions and your bacon potato bake is ready to go into the oven.
Bake for 15 minutes at 375 and then crank it up to 400 for another ten minutes, or until potatoes are cooked through.
