Happy Anni to me and da Hubs. Today we’ve been sharing our lives together for five years. So, yeah it is kind of just our dating anniversary… Yes, I’m cheesy and like to celebrate every single solitary anniversary there ever was. Ok. Not every one… but most of them! And if you’re like that too, high fives all around!
Because this isn’t our official anni anymore, I guess the ol’ wedding anniversary kind of sort of trumps this one; I wanted to make something, instead of buying some material thing that’ll just end up getting shoved in a drawer sometime down the line. Also, I thought it would be fun to do something more involving with an extended duration. I had a few ideas in my head already and consulted with Pinterest, of course. Here’s what I came up with: A year of out of the ordinary date nights! Now that we have a baby, it is imperative to our relationship that we get a little one-on-one time so this one is two fold. Plus it’ll help get us out of the boring, lets just go to dinner and a movie kind of rut. You with me? Good.
Here’s what you’ll need: Paper to write/type & print your title and month list, scissors or a paper trimmer, card stock, double sided tape, a single hole punch, and a binder ring.
I typed out & printed the title and months pages, spacing everything so there was just enough room to write out your date for that month.
Cut each piece out, while also cutting a piece of card stock that is just a bit bigger than the title or month pieces. I cannot for the life of me cut a straight line, must’ve been sick on that day of kindergarten, so I like to use a paper trimmer like this.
Mat each of the cut out pieces with card stock, using your double stick tape.
Punch a single hole and hold all the pieces together with a small binder ring. I chose to punch holes in the top left corner, though, you can really do it wherever. You could even punch two holes in the center or on each end and hold it together that way.
Put on your thinking cap and write each date to be had! Package’r up and give it to Mr. Right.
Here are a few ideas I came up with:
- A Moonlit Hike
- Picnic Brunch
- Mini Golf
- Backwards Date
- Only order appetizers, instead of a full dinner
- Wild Card – your date chooses
- Check something off your bucket list
- Bike ride for frozen yogurt or ice cream
- A fun run
- Get out of town for the day or even just the afternoon, road trip!
- Pretend to be strangers
- Watch a baseball game
- Go see a show on Broadway
- Watch the sunrise or sunset
- Ice Skate Date
- Bowling Night
- Find something on Pinterest and make it together
- Live near the snow? Go build a snow man!
- Make a map of all the places you’ve been together. Maybe something like this?
- Search Groupon for a fun adventure
