As I mentioned here, we spent the entire weekend in beautiful San Diego and it wouldn’t be fair if we didn’t do some kid friendly activities too. We’ve already visited SeaWorld, so it was decided, we made our first trip to the San Diego Zoo as a family of three. Now that Hudson is a bit older, it is so fun to see him actually enjoying these places. Disneyland was amazing and the zoo did not disappoint. I think his favorite things were the bear exhibits and I have to say that they was my favorite part too. The bears were so active, playful, and really fun to watch. I’ve said it before, and I’ll probably say it a million times over, watching him experience things for the first time and seeing the wonderment in this eyes is such a gift.
We all had the absolute best time, specifically Hudson. Once he woke up from his nap, he was ready to go and see all the zoo had to offer. Our first stop, post-nap, was the pandas. They were pretty cool to see and pretty much picked up right where Hudson left off, nap wise. After that we saw a few bear exhibits and then headed for the giraffes, elephants, kangaroos, and that whole area. They even had a cheetah exhibit where they let dogs in to play. I was a little nervous watching them, but honestly, they ran around together and I guess the buddy system works for all kinds of kinds. There were a ton of monkeys all throughout the park and so many other things you definitely should check out if you ever get a chance to hit the San Diego Zoo.
checking out the sleepy lions!
You know me, going for an adventure with my sweet family is most of the excitement; but, my next immediate thought is what am I going to wear. Especially at a theme park of any type, I want to be comfortable. I’m not one of those people that can walk around for long periods of time in sandals or unsupportive shoes, so I always go for some type of sneaker. In this case I went with my tried and true Nikes. A short-sleeved chambray top is extremely comfortable and paired with bright white shorts, done and done. On these kinds of days, I don’t want to fuss too much, so just a couple of bracelets, a watch (on sale!), and a hat for good measure. A tote bag is also a must for me, it holds absolutely everything. I brought my Neverfull along for the adventure (dupe here)!
What do you reach for when you’re heading to a theme park for the day?
Happy hump day! xx
